# Device requirements

> The minimum specifications for the tablets and phones that run the Nexudus apps.

## Overview

Before you buy or assign a device, make sure it meets the requirements for the app you're installing. Requirements differ between the tablet apps and the mobile apps.

## Tablet apps

[NexBoard](https://learn.nexudus.com/apps/nexboard.md), [NexEvents](https://learn.nexudus.com/apps/nexevents.md), [NexIO](https://learn.nexudus.com/apps/nexio.md), and [NexKiosk](https://learn.nexudus.com/apps/nexkiosk.md) run on a dedicated tablet. Each tablet must:

* Be an **iPad or Android tablet** running a current major OS version.
* Have a stable **Wi‑Fi** connection.
* Meet the minimum screen and processor specs for smooth, always-on use.

> [!NOTE]
>
> For tablet apps, disable **auto‑lock** so the screen doesn't sleep during use: on the device, go to **Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto‑Lock → Never**.

## Mobile apps

[Passport](https://learn.nexudus.com/passport/overview.md) and its white‑label equivalents run on any iPhone or Android phone or tablet.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Passport and its white‑label equivalents are **not compatible with Amazon Fire devices** or any device that doesn't use the App Store or Google Play to download apps.

[NexDelivery](https://learn.nexudus.com/apps/nexdelivery.md) needs an iOS or Android device with **Bluetooth 4.0** and a steady Wi‑Fi connection.
