# Compliance

> Verify customers' identity documents with Stripe Identity and screen company directors with OpenSanctions and Pappers for anti-money-laundering checks.

## Overview

Compliance integrations run automatic identity and anti-money-laundering (AML) checks — most often for [virtual office](https://learn.nexudus.com/platform/virtual-offices/overview.md) customers.

| Integration | What it checks |
| - | - |
| **Stripe Identity** | Verifies ID documents and can compare their details with the customer's. |
| **OpenSanctions** | Screens directors against international sanctions lists and politically exposed persons (PEP) databases. |
| **Pappers** | Checks company officers and directors against the Pappers company registry. |

Each needs an account with the provider. Set them up in **Settings → Integrations → Compliance**:

* **Stripe Identity** — turn on **Enable Stripe Identity** and enter your **Stripe Publishable Key** and **Stripe Secret key**. Use your live keys — a Stripe account still in test mode can't be connected. Optionally compare the document with the customer's personal details, and then with their first line of address, city and state.
* **OpenSanctions** — turn on **Enable OpenSanctions integration** and enter your **API Key**.
* **Pappers** — turn on **Enable Pappers integration** and enter your **API Key**.

Which checks run, and how results are reviewed, is set on each virtual office plan. See [Onboarding and compliance](https://learn.nexudus.com/platform/virtual-offices/onboarding-and-compliance.md).
